As part of your Arts Award, you need to review an arts event you have been to. This could be a theatre visit, concert, gig, art gallery or exhibition or any other visit to an arts activity. Please leave a comment here to outline what you went to see, and a review of the experience. Year 8, you will also need to comment on what you learnt from the experience that you could use in your own arts practice.
See Miss Whiterod with any further questions.
On Thursday 5th June we are recording our own school CD – ‘A Year In Song’.
This is a very exciting venture with the whole school involved. A professional recording company are coming to Holme Grange to work with us and will produce the CD for us. These CDs will be on sale for £7.99 each and will be ready before the end of term (a letter with order details is on its way home!).
There is also a competition to design the CD cover (there is a template attached to the letter). This design can be completed in any artistic medium (pens, crayons, pain, collage…)
The CD sleeve needs to include the following:
HOLME GRANGE SCHOOL
A YEAR IN SONG
This is a chance for the children to show off their artistic talent – please encourage them to enter!
The deadline is next Thursday (22nd May) so there isn’t long to complete this task!
I am excited to see the children’s designs 🙂
Reception are enjoying the story of Jack and the Beanstalk as a way to identify changes in a piece when listening. They have made some excellent comments about how the music reflects the characters and the story!
Can you think of any describing words to help them talk about the Giant?
Year 4 have been busy composing in pairs, using a swan for their inspiration. They thought about musical features which would work for a swan, and then tried to implement them in their pieces. All the performances were excellent- we have some budding composers in our midst!
Can you leave a comment with an animal, and a description of the music that you think would work for your chosen animal?
This will help the year 4s as they progress with their composing work.
Pupils in Eaton Grange are currently working towards their bronze Arts Award – click here for more details http://www.artsaward.org.uk/site/?id=65
In order to complete this, they have to research their own arts heroes.
Who are your arts heroes and why?
They can be musicians, pop stars, actors, artists, djs or similar and do not have to be famous!
